Hiatus

I thought it’d be able to continue blogging while serving on the National Book Award committee for young people’s literature. I thought I’d figure out how to get around reviewing current books and controversies but, the process has gotten real and I can’t do both. The deliberation period is short, and it considers all youth literature, that written for ages 0-18. To say it’s intense is an understatement. I’m not comfortable saying much more than that, but just yesterday, I read an article that tells it all, without telling it all. I love blogging!

I just now looked to see when I first began CrazyQuiltsEdi, my first blog, and can you believe it was on this very date in 2006? Yes, today’s the proper day to step away.

“Still Blogging, Still Relevant: Navigating Voice and Value in the Evolving Library Landscape”
Panelists: Betsy Bird, Colby Sharp, Travis Jonker, Renee Scott

I’ll also be at the National Book Award Celebration in New York on Wednesday 18 Nov. There will be links to watch the event live. In the meantime, keep reading all wonderful stories for our young people that deliver courage, representation, unboundedness, and discovery. (see what I did there?) Which do you think will be award winners?

I do still occasionally check the socials, I’m around!

 Be well and do good
