M’DEAR
Greetings all m’dear book nerd friends!
Are you still working on your holiday plans, trying to find that special ‘me’ time? How about warming it up with a new book, a little snack, AND a new friend? Join me on what I hope to make an annual tradition connecting with others doing what we enjoy doing most: reading.
You might squeeze your reading in between unwrapping, caroling, and feasting. Maybe books will rule the days for you. Or, perhaps you’ll burn that late-night yule log and read until dawn. Maybe 25 Dec. is just another day to you and you’ll have all the time you need to read a new book.

With a nod to winter reading traditions around the world that include books and chocolate, we’ll find our own times to settle in at some point on 25 and/or 26 December with some chocolate, maybe a blanket, possibly some streaming lofi, and read a good book.
M’DEAR is Midwinter Drop Everything and Read.
Participation is easy.
- Complete the form with your preferences (including your choice for a logo) by Thursday 5 December. https://forms.gle/LmPTqgG5YN3y1CBm8
- You’ll be assigned a book friend on 7 December. Be sure to check your email and spam folders!
- You’ll send a book and receive a book.
- Email your assigned friend to get their preferred mailing address and ask any necessary questions about their book or snack choices. Some people will want to be surprised while others will know exactly what they want.
- Please, be mindful of costs. Choosing a paperback title will ensure costs can be kept below $20.
- Order your items no later than 10 December so we can all begin reading on 25 & 26 December.
- This is a good opportunity to read a banned or challenged author.
